Improve Energy Levels

Many suffer from insufficient sustained energy to do and achieve everything they would like to. You demand a lot from your body, but are you giving it what it needs to cope with your schedule? Fueling your daily activities so you get the most out of your day is one of my priorities when delivering care to you.

If you are someone who would like to have more energy for sustained time periods then there are some basic actions you can take to achieve this.

  1. A very important element of sustained energy is what you eat for breakfast. What you eat at the most important meal will determine the rest of your day. Many people feel better when they have protein at breakfast, even a good lunch won’t help these people recover enough energy to get through the afternoon if they don’t start the day with some protein. Recommended breakfast protein; eggs, raw-grass fed organic yogurt, organic low sodium meat or poultry, soaked raw nuts or seeds, and almond butter.
  2. Refined carbohydrates such as sugar, breads, pasta, etc. will wear your energy down. Try eating more vegetables and adequate protein as a good diet will certainly help put the bounce back into your step.
  3. Meeting needs for vitamins and minerals will help you utilize food correctly and back you up. I suggest a good quality whole foods supplement such as powders you can add to smoothies that are high in good quality green vegetables and super fruits.  Also, a good quality supplement that focuses on methylation may be helpful.  Methylation defects are very common and can affect brain, hormones, energy, and your immune system.  A good methylation supplement has a complex of B vitamins, one being 5MTHF (the best form of folate), and other nutrients which support these vitamins for optimal utilization.  Speak with your nutrition specialist to see which is right for you.
  4. Exercise is a factor. Ever noticed after a good workout or walk that you feel energized and more awake? It may seem counter-intuitive, but research shows expending energy by engaging in regular exercise may pay off with increased energy in the long run.
  5. Pain drains the body and robs you of energy. Alleviate pain by consulting your healthcare professional as to what is the best direction to take.
